Hang & Level™
The picture hanging tool™
How to Hang Pictures
Make the HOTTEST window coverings seen on HGTV and in every drapery magazine - drapes, valances, and more. Why are grommet style window coverings so popular? There’s a dirty little secret that we decorators never want to admit. There are about three holes behind most of our wall hangings! The problem is, you can measure all you like to get the right location of your pictures, but so much of what is happening behind the picture can alter its final location: the length of the wire or the location of the hooks on the frame. Then, there is the problem of size of the hooks used to hang the pictures which can alter the location as well.
The current decorating trend is to align pictures beside each other, as opposed to staggering their heights. The difficulty in hanging them is greatly increased. Tape measures, laser levels, and other devices can’t solve the problem of aligning pictures to hang at an exact spot.
It’s amazing that a tool as simple as the Hang & Level™ can perfectly line up pictures just as you see them when you lay them against the wall.

Hanging a picture frame with one hook
Step 1
Hang the item on the single hook marked A on the tool. Make sure that the wire is snugly placed in the notch at the back of the hook. Use the single hook to hang items weighing less than 9 lbs (4.5 kg), for heavier items use 2 hooks.
Step 2
Center the item on the tool using the marks on the side as a guide. Hold the item with your free hand for safety. Once the level in the handle is centered, position the item so that it lines up equally on both sides of the tool.
Step 3
Place the tool on the wall and find the perfect wall placement. No measuring necessary - move the tool and the item around on the wall until you find the right spot. The pads on the back of the tool will prevent scratching the wall. When you have found the right spot make sure the level in the handle is centered correctly.
Step 4
Remove the item from the tool, while keeping the tool on the wall. Note: If you can’t remove the item easily, mark the position of the tool using the notch on the top. Then, once your have removed the tool and the item from the wall, return the tool to the mark and ensure it’s level to continue..
Step 5
With the tool in the correct spot press the button (A) . The tool will make a small mark on the wall. Remove the tool once you have made the mark.
Step 6
If you are using a picture hook to hang the item... Place the BOTTOM of the hook over the mark on the wall. Nail the hook in this position.
OR
If you are using a nail to hang the item... Hammer the nail directly into the mark on the wall.
Step 7
Hang the item on the wall. Use the level on the side of the tool to make sure the item is hanging correctly on the wall. Lay the tool sideways on top of the item and make sure that the bubble in the level is centered.

What Susan has to say
I wish I had invented the Hang & Level™. For years I wanted to come up with a solution to my own picture handling dilemma. I’m glad someone did. I’ve had the pleasure of meeting the inventor, Liette Tousignant, a professional interior decorator. One of Liette’s most challenging and time-consuming decorating tasks was hanging artwork. Hanging art perfectly without creating numerous holes in walls was a problem that had Liette looking for a tool – ANY tool – that could help her do the job right - the first time. Realizing nothing was available, Liette and her husband Kelly Krake invented their own tool; Hang & Level™.
I’ve used the Hang & Level™ many times and am amazed with the ease with which it works – so simple yet so effective! Every home must have one. In fact, I call it my little marriage helper (if you’ve ever tried to hang pictures with your husband you’ll know what I mean!)
Great gift giving ideas: Several ladies have purchased them for their husbands (one as a stocking stuffer). These are great shower gifts, birthday gifts, house warming, and so much more. Your friends will love you for it!
